Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Valencia FC or someone else?
The Spanish Football season hasn’t yet begun, but we are already getting an idea of the strengths and weaknesses of certain teams. Wins and losses that no one expected, taking for example Barcelona’s defeat against Athletic during the Spanish Super Copa final (the first ever win for the latter of a major title). This will make for an interesting and exciting season. Usually we all expect Barcelona to win against pretty much any of the teams in the Spanish League, so this may be a year of change and surprises.
Having said that, predicting which team will win La Liga is not as easy as previous years.
With an injection of English players into the Spanish Liga this season, we are given more reasons to be interested in Spanish football other than just watching Barcelona fight against Real Madrid for the title. Hopefully this will get people interested in the other 18 teams that make La Liga!
Having said that however, it doesn’t come as much of a surprise that every season seems to be a repetition of the last, either seeing the whites or their catalan rivals hold the cup. But this year there is a sense of hope for teams like Atletico de Madrid and Valencia, those two teams who seem to always be in the shadows of the Giants.
I will update this blog on a monthly basis, analyzing the progress of the teams, to finally see who the winner of the 2015/16 season will be.
With what feels like a somewhat dirty and dishonest transfer window this summer, with players being unfollowed on twitter after 25 years of service and loyalty, others who make promises, but leave anyway, some that are hinted towards a move, but then have their contracts renewed, some left by the wayside and feel the need to leave.. the list goes on. The feeling of moving on is strong, we just hope that all the teams have a strong sense of willingness and pride for their teams, and deliver the best game they can.
All said and done, we cannot forget that the richest teams always have the best players, (Barcelona: Messi, Neymar, Suarez.., Madrid: Ronaldo, Bale, Benzema, Atletico de Madrid: Torres etc…). However heros can sometimes be beaten by the underdog, like david vs Goliath, let’s just hope we are in for one heck of a season! See you all at the end of August!
Who will win La Liga in your opinion?
